Join us on this workshop to learn the basic principles of studio lighting.

During the day we’ll cover everything you need to know in order to get creative in the photographic studio, producing a number of beautiful portraits throughout your time with us.

You’ll learn how to set up a number of different lighting plans for both high and low-key, learn how to meter light effectively, and how different modifiers and reflectors sculpt light to add depth, texture, and contrast.

We’ll also touch upon film and format choice, lenses for different compositions, and how best to process your film to maximise detail and tonality.

We’ll step into the darkroom towards the end of the day to process our film and make a contact sheet to better understand the visual effects of each lighting set up.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those who are new to the photographic studio. You don’t need to bring anything with you, but feel free to bring a camera if you like!
