Join us in the studio to learn all about the art of large format portraiture!

We’ll start by introducing you to the cameras and lenses that we’ll be using throughout the day, along with our studio flash systems. We’ll then discuss different film types and portrait styles whilst looking through examples of work from renowned practitioners. We’ll chat about what inspires us as portrait photographers, and discuss the challenges we face, before getting hands on with the equipment.

During this workshop you’ll learn about lens types and camera movements, and how they affect your portraits; we’ll learn about perspective and composition, and how to illuminate your subject using various lighting techniques.

In the afternoon, you’ll process your film before making a contact sheet from your negatives.

This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, but experience is always welcomed!
