Have you ever wondered how to make negatives from standard photographic paper? Do you love your old cameras but the cost of film is getting you down? Do you dream of a more painterly approach to image making? If so, why not join us on our fantastic Paper Negative workshop!
During this workshop, you’ll learn all about the process of making negatives in-camera, from start to finish, using only standard photographic paper.
We’ll look at lens choice, exposure compensation, paper choice, preparation, and processing, before learning how to contact print our negatives in the darkroom. We’ll also get a little experimental with embellishments in graphite, ink, and charcoal, to enhance our photographs - you could call it “Photoshop by hand”.
This workshop is beginner friendly, but some experience of darkroom practice or large format photography is always welcome. You don’t need to bring anything with you either, but feel free to bring along any objects, costumes, or props that you feel might enhance your photographs.
